According to the Referans real estate index (REE) study of January 2007, the average price of real estate rose from YTL 1,875 to YTL 1,979 per meter square, reflecting a monthly real estate sale price increase of 5 percent.

The highest average sale prices in January were in Beşiktaş with YTL 3,305 per square meter, Sarıyer YTL 3,167, Eyüp YTL 2,787, Beyoğlu YTL 2,727 and Bakırköy at YTL 2,384. The lowest average prices were in Gaziosmanpaşa at YTL 909 per meter square, Avcılar YTL 921, Silivri YTL 922, Bağcılar YTL 972 and Büyükçekmece at YTL 1,099 per square meter.

Büyükçekmece stands out:

When the index is evaluated to compare various types of apartments, Büyükçekmece stands out as a location where the least expensive options can be found. The cheapest residences range in size from between 50 and 99 square meters and are located in Esenler valued at YTL 1,101 per square meter and in Maltepe for YTL 1,220 per square meter. Apartments between 100 and 149 square meters are the cheapest in Avcılar, valued at YTL 779 per square meter and in Bağcılar at YTL 937 per square meter. In the 150-199 square meter range the cheapest apartments are located in Büyükçekmece going for YTL 1,038 per square meter and Ümraniye at YTL 1,468 per square meter.

Büyükçekmece is the cheapest area where 200-249 square meter apartments cost YTL 1,232 per square meter, followed by Ümraniye at YTL 1,363 for the same size apartment. Büyükçekmece was again the best location for 250-499 square meter apartments costing YTL 1,045 per square meter followed by Maltepe at YTL 1,367 per square meter.
