WiderThan powers Digitürk video-on-demand service

Seoul-based WiderThan Co., Ltd., the global leader for delivering integrated digital entertainment solutions to communications services providers worldwide and a subsidiary of RealNetworks Inc., announced that it has been selected by Digitürk, the largest satellite broadcast provider in Turkey, to power their video-on-demand (VOD) entertainment services.
WiderThan’s video service platform enables Digiturk customers’ instant access to the latest interactive video entertainment anytime, anywhere, on multiple devices including portable video players and mobile phones. The full-function video solution provides encoding, management and personalized delivery of video in industry leading formats.
The WiderThan service also allows Digiturk to quickly create new innovative pricing plans that provide subscribers with flexible purchasing options, either by subscription or pay-per-view. Subscribers will also be offered special bundle campaigns depending on their personal tastes and purchasing behaviors.
