Istanbul tops Europe’s real estate market

Istanbul has ranked first among 26 other European cities as the city with highest development outlook in the Emerging Trends in Real Estate Europe 2007 report released by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Istanbul received a rating of 6.74 out of nine, making it the top-ranking city for the development market in 2007. S&P affirms Turkey’s ‘BB-’ credit rating

Standard & Poor’s affirmed Turkey’s “BB-“ long-term sovereign credit rating on Thursday, citing prudent macroeconomic policies and fiscal discipline.
S&P added that Turkey was still vulnerable to swings in investor confidence, primarily because of its large external imbalances.

New flights to Turkey from Oslo

Norwegian Air Shuttle will begin flights from Oslo to destinations in Turkey, news reports said. From the beginning of May 2007, they will start flights to Turkey’s southern holiday resort of Antalya. They will also begin flights to Istanbul (Sabiha Gökçen Airport) in June. Tickets for these flights are already on sale at www.norwegian.no

PETKIM launches tender for a liquid nitrogen storage tank

PETKİM, the state-controlled petrochemical production company, has launched an international tender for procurement of a liquid nitrogen storage tank.
The company released an English-language announcement for the procurement as follows:

TMSF to sell 18 İstanbul WTC properties

The Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) on March 6 will sell 18 pieces of property situatuted in the İstanbul World Trade Center and having a total estimated value of YTL 6.4 million. ‘Mortgage will increase prices by 15 percent’

Housing prices will increase by 10 to 15 percent after Turkey’s new mortgage system is launched, Century 21 Turkey General Manager Ahmet Rauf Saatçi has said. Coca-Cola Beverages AŞ provides a $200M syndication credit

Coca-Cola Beverages AŞ has provided a syndication credit amounting to $200 mln.
A material disclosure sent by the Company to the İstanbul Stock Exchange (İMKB) said: “At the meeting on February 20, 2007, the Executive Board of the Coca-Cola Beverages AŞ approved that a syndication credit of $200 mln that to be obtained via a consortium set up with the participation of six banks.” (more…)

Turkey’s economy on the rise

Turkey’s economy is on the rise when compared with the European Union (EU) member states, according to the figures of State Planning Organization (DPT).
Turkey, which surpassed Poland in 2003, Austria in 2004 and Sweden in 2005, will overtake Belgium with the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) it records this year.
