Germans eyeing Turkey for real estate

Turkey, being among the top four countries that Germans prefer to acquire houses with the intention of spending their holiday or setle in, seems to have a growing attraction of Germans day by day.
The results of the poll organized by Turkey Research Center (TAM) among the German, proved that 14 percent of Germans are likely to purchase houses in Turkey. The number seems to have doubled compared to the results of 2002- According to research conducted in 2002, Germans interested in acquiring real estates in Turkey; 5 percent of Germans had the intention of purchasing real estates for holidays whereas 2 percent consider it as an investment. The approximate number of the ones who at least for once took a vacation in Turkey was about 25 percent.
In the latest research, this number reaching 35 percents, one out of every 10 Germans got interested in purchasing real estates in Turkey to make holiday and approximately 5 percent to make investment. Almost every German who wants to own household in Turkey are spending their holidays in Turkey.
According to the research, the ones who are interested in purchasing real estates in Turkey are mostly 35-40 years old and have approximately 3.500 Euro total incomes per household. Germans generally prefer 100- 150 m2 houses with 4-5 rooms. The average amount planned to be spent to make investment is about 150.000 Euro.
Among the Germans who took place in the poll, 80 out of a hundred want to have a swimming pool, whereas the existence of sports and beauty-care facilities defines the choices of 63 percent. The existence of a sauna, bars, restaurants and place of employment are important effective on their decisions.
Dr. Martina Sauer, Head of TAM Poll Researches Division, stating that tourism caused people to come closer, said that larger amount of Germans were expected to purchase real estates in Turkey. She added that the growing interest of Germans are because of the charming climate and natural beauties of Turkey. German citizens own 15278 real properties in Turkey already.
