The Consumer Confidence Index increased by 1.02 percent in February to 92.74 percent.
The increase in the Consumer Confidence Index stemmed from the improvement in consumers’ assessments concerning their purchasing power in the present and near term, the general economic situation and job opportunities in the next period. The monthly Consumer Tendency Survey, which was carried out with cooperation of the Turkish Statistics Institute (Turkstat) and the CentralBank of Turkey, evaluates consumer behavior and expectations. When the index is above 100 the outlook is optimistic, when it equals 100 it is neutral and when it is below 100 it is pessimistic.
