‘Nabucco will be definitely completed’

The Nabucco natural gas pipeline is the type of project that cannot be affected by cyclical factors, said Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Güler, referring to both external and internal factors that have recently cast doubt over the project’s future. Hard copies no longer needed in Customs

Exporters will no longer be required to submit hard copies of their guarantee licenses to the Customs Administration. A protocol on submitting documents online was signed between the Customs Undersecretariat, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE). To this end, licenses will be approved online by the Commerce and Industry Ministry and will be sent to the Customs Administration via the Internet. Unakıtan to participate in WIEF in Malaysia

Finance Minister Kemal Unakıtan has departed for the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur to participate in the third edition of the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF), to be held May 27 to May 29. New luxury hotel for conservative families in Belek

Ela Quality Resort Hotel, a luxury facilities that caters to families, opened Sunday in Antalya. The new hotel features many novelties, including a new service concept: Only couples between 30-55 with children can stay during the summer. In the winter the establishment will focus on health and sports tourism. Ahmet Çolakoğlu, general manager of the hotel, said Antalya is home to thousands of hotels and different ones will outlast others. OECD Economic Outlook Report on Turkey

The Economic Outlook report published by OECD twice a year, where it evaluates the performances of its members, argued that unemployment in Turkey will decrease, at least partially, this year and next year.
The report stated that consumer price index will increase by 9.6 percent this year, and by 7.2 percent new year. Thus, inflation will continue to fall. Unemployment rate is expected to be 9.7 percent this year and 9.6 percent (more…)

NBK acquires leading Turkish edible oils firm

National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) Capital Equity Partners has acquired 100 percent of the shares of Yudum Food, the leading packaged edible oils company in Turkey, with annual revenues of $110 million, from Southeast Europe Equity Fund Ltd, managed by Bedminster Capital, according to a release issued by the company.Acquisition financing for the transaction was provided by Turkey’s largest privately run bank İş Bank.
