Personal Internet banking service users exceeded 17 million in the first three months of 2007, according to Banks Association of Turkey (TBB) data.The TBB announced the Internet banking first-quarter statistics for the 26 banks among its 46 members that provide Internet banking services. Of the 17 million personal subscribers, 3 million users made at least one transaction through the Internet, accounting for 18 percent of all users. The number of active users increased by 710,000 compared to the same period in 2006, and rose by 83,000 compared to the previous quarter. Subscribers increased by 2.6 million compared to the same period in 2006 and increased by 782,000 compared to the previous quarter. The number of corporate subscribers reached 853,000 in first quarter and 404,000 (47 percent) of them made at least one transaction via the Internet.
