The international tender for the construction of Bosporus Highway Tube Tunnel Project, which will be carried out under the “Build-Operate-Transfer” model, is decided to be postponed until after the general elections.
The international tender for the construction of Bosporus Highway Tube Tunnel Project, which is planned to be carried out under the “build-operate-transfer” model as decided by Transportation Ministry DLH Construction General Directorate last year, is decided to be postponed until after the general elections.
According to the information that is gathered by EkoTürk reporter from DLH Construction General Directorate, the decision regarding the delay of the tender was approved by the Transportation Ministry and the deadline for offers is set as June 12, 2007.
Indicating that an announcement will be made regarding the postponement of the international tender with BOT model in the coming days in this regard, DLH Construction General Directorate officials said that the tender will be delayed for two or three months.
The domestic and foreign companies that are interested in the tender with Build-Operate –Transfer model are as follows: “IC İÇTAŞ CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY CO., GÜRİŞ CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING CO., DOĞUŞ CONSTRUCTION CO., GAMA CO., NUROL CONSTRUCTION CO., TEKFEN CONSTRUCTION CO., YÜKSEL CONSTRUCTION, KOLİN CONSTRUCTION CO., ASTALDI SpA (Italy), OHL (Spain), STRABAG (Austria), MITSUBISHI (Japan), MARUBENI (Japan), VINCI (France)..”
The specifications regarding the tender, for which the temporary guarantee is set as $4.5 million, will be purchased from DLH Construction General Directorate Railway Construction Office Directorate with a fee of YTL 10,000.
Planned to be completed in around three years, the project will consist of tunneling methods such as advanced technology Tunnel Building Machines (TBM) for the parts under the sea and “Open-Close” and New Austrian Tunnel Method (NATM) for other parts as construction techniques.
The total length of the tunnel, which will have two lanes and two stories, will be 5.5 kilometers, the length of flexible tube tunnel will be 3.34 km., the internal diameter for the flexible tube tunnel cross-section will be 11.4 meters, external diameter will be 12.4 meters, NATM cross-section will be 15 meters wide and 22 meters high, close-open section will be 10 meters wide and 6 meters high.
