The Nabucco natural gas pipeline is the type of project that cannot be affected by cyclical factors, said Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Güler, referring to both external and internal factors that have recently cast doubt over the project’s future. He added that the project, planned to transport natural gas from Central Asia and the Caspian Sea Basin to Europe via Turkey, will definitely reach completion. Speaking at the 16th International Oil and Natural Gas Congress, Güler said Turkey was a natural corridor between energy producing and energy consuming countries. The minister added that Turkey had focused on extraction work and aimed to become a self-sufficient country by 2015.
