China major target market for Turkish Asia-Pacific strategy

State Minister for Foreign Trade Kürşad Tüzmen has said China is Turkey’s principle target in its strategy to develop trade with the rapidly growing Asia-Pacific region countries.
“With the help of the preferential trade system and our program to enter and settle in the Chinese market, we will hit great figures in trade volume with this country,” he said on Sunday.

Aselsan & TAI signs contract for manufacturing 50 attack copters

Aselsan, the Turkish Undersecretariat of Defense Industry, and prime contractor Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) have jointly signed a contract for the manufacturing of 50 attack helicopters, the Anatolia news agency reported. The contract was worth $700 million and the delivery of the helicopters to Turkey’s armed forces will begin in 2009, said the report.
