Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB) was down 23.12 percent in January, disappointing investors.
Those who invested in gold gained 10 percent of income by the end of January, while the loss of those who invested in the investment funds was 13.13 percent.

The IMKB National 100 Index was down 12,840.57 points and dropped to 42,697.56 points from 55,538.13. The monthly average loss in the financial index was 24.73 percent, that in the industrial index was 18.62 percent and that in services index was 18.14 percent.

The USD gained 0.85 percent in value against the new Turkish lira (YTL) and climbed from 1.1700 to 1.1800 YTL in the first month of 2008.

On the other hand, Euro was up 2.04 percent in January and reached 1.7510 YTL.
