Turkish vehicle maker Ford Otosan will start exporting its Transit Connect vans to North America this year, the firm said on Thursday.

Ford Otosan, a joint venture of Ford Motor Co. and Turkish conglomerate Koc Holding KCHOL.IS, will also increase capacity at its Izmit plant to 320,000 units by the end of this year from a current 300,000, General Manager Michael Flewitt said in a statement.

Capacity would further increase in 2009, he said.
