Turkey’s best in press advertising will be announced today in an award ceremony at the Maritimes’ Warehouse No. 3 located in Istanbul’s Fındıklı Salıpazarı district.

This year marks the fifth “Red Best in Press Advertising Awards” (Kırmızı Basında En İyiler Reklam Ödülleri). As many as 1,188 works from 110 advertising agencies have competed, among them advertising agencies, media planning and acquiring agencies, advertising photographers and illustration artists from all across Turkey.

Awards will be handed to their winners in 33 categories. The categories include “Kıpkırmızı” (“Reddest”), “Kırmızı Kalem Eğitimleri Ödülü” (“Red Pen Education Awards”), which is formed as the result of an educational program with the collaboration of Kırmızı (“Red”) and Reklamcılık Vakfı (Advertising Foundation), and “Human Rights Competition Award” to celebrate daily Hürriyet’s 60th year.

The 12-person jury was led by RPM Radar Advertising Agency Chairman Paul McMillen. The jury members included advertising professionals Aslı Bleda from Medina Turgul DDB Advertising Agency, Ayşe Bali from Rafineri Advertising Agency, Demet İkiler from Mindshare, Ebru Ataman from Yorum Publicis, Faruk Kaptan from Ajans Ultra, Feride Durmaz from Young & Rubicam Reklamevi, Galya Frayman Molinas from Coca-Cola, Haluk Erkmen from Manajans Thompson, İzzet Karaca from Unilever, Kaan İşmen from Farkyeri İletişim, Levent Çakıroğlu from Migros, and Sevgi Tuncel from Ali Taran Creative Workshop (ATCW). Gürül Öğüt was the moderator of the competition.
