Global Yatirim Energaz offered on Friday 1.61 billion USD, the highest bid for privatization of Turkish capital Ankara’s natural gas grid.

Six consortiums and companies were competing in the auction held by Ankara Municipality.

Akfen Holding, Calik Enerji, Gaznaturel-Nural, Limak and Elektromed were the other bidders in the auction.

Global Yatirim Energaz will be called to sign a contract following the approval of Ankara Mayor Melih Gokcek and consent of Competition Board and Energy Market Regulation Authority.
