Turkey’s first toll road tender utilizing the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model will be held on Oct. 7.  The announcement for the Gebze-Orhangazi-İzmir toll road tender was published in yesterday’s Official Gazette.

The tender will be conducted through sealed bids. The announcement noted that the bid documents can be acquired for YTL 100,000 and that the bid bond will be equal to the 3 percent of the offer.  The tender will take place at the Highways General Directorate in Ankara. The winning contractor will be responsible for the financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the road. The completed toll road will be transferred to the Highways General Directorate at no cost at the end of the contract period. Companies seeking to participate can obtain bid documents after April 7, and the bids must be submitted to the Highways General Directorate on Oct. 1 and Oct. 7 before 2 p.m.
