Garanti Bank has been chosen as Turkey’s best bank by Euromoney magazine, receiving the Euromoney Award for Excellence for the ninth time.
In a statement on Thursday, the bank said the award came as a result of the sustained growth rates, success in delivering loans, rapid spread of branches, leading role in the mortgage market, customer-oriented service mentality and the international confidence in the bank even at a time of global turbulence. Assessing their success in receiving the award once again, Garanti General Manager Ergun Özen stated: “Our growth and service performance were appreciated not only by our customers but also by Euromoney. As Garanti, we continued our sound growth during a period of global fluctuation. We performed very well in the first half of 2008.” However, he noted, the coming period will not be so easy due to the troubles in the global economies as well as the domestic market. He said they would continue to grow despite any obstacles in their path. Garanti was established as a privately owned commercial bank in Ankara in 1946, and provides retail, commercial, corporate and private banking services to over 6.2 million customers.
