Bacuon Yapex 2008, organized by Akdeniz Tanıtım in coordination with Messe Münih, the German Fairs Institution, is to open its doors tomorrow in the Antalya Expo Center. Faruk Nafiz Özak, minister of public works and settlement, will deliver the inaugural speech of the fair, which will remain open to the public until Nov. 2.

Generally held towards the end of the tourism season, Bacuon Yapex 2008 has some 300 firms participating from across Turkey. The fair is expected to attract some 30,000 domestic and international visitors.

Held around five main themes, which include Construction Technology, New Products in the Construction sector, Bathroom Technology, Window and Door Technology and Renovation and Restoration, Bacuon Yapex 2008 will also host many different activities such as the Turk-Romania Business Meeting, the 2nd Tourism and Architecture Symposium, the Occupational Information Application or Archipoint and Publicity Meeting for BAU 2009.

Hosting 30 top executives from Romania, the Turk-Romania Business Forum will begin at 10.30 a.m. on Oct. 31. Attended by Alaaddin Yüksel, Antalya Governor, Kemal Özgen of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Ion PASCU, Romania Ambassador, the business meeting will also offer a different perspective on Antalya’s business publicity.

Held by the Antalya branch of the Chamber of Architects with the theme of ‘National Tourism Policy and Architecture,’ the 2nd Tourism and Architecture Symposium will begin in the Antalya Expo Center on Oct. 31 and continue in the Dedeman Hotel from Nov. 1-2.

Another organization that Bacuon Yapex 2008 will host is the launch of BAU 2009, one of the largest construction fairs in Europe. Starting on Oct. 31, the launch is set to include a presentation by Johannes Manger, the marketing manager.

The business forum will also host many professional groups such as chambers of commerce and industry, governmental organizations, occupational schools and universities. Also, a group of 50 visitors, who are mainly construction experts, is expected from Romania and Syria.
