Exports from Turkey’s plastic sector, consisting of raw materials and plastic products, rose by 25 percent in 2008, according to a report issued Monday by the Turkish Plastics Industry Association.

The report said Turkey’s plastic exports reached $3.7 billion in 2008. Plastic exports constituted the 27 percent of exports in the chemicals sector. Turkey’s plastics manufacturing rose by 13 percent and reached $3 billion in value, with exports going primarily to Russia, Romania, Germany, Ukraine and Iraq.
